Negotiating With Terrorists
I don’t have a lot to say about declaring Iran’s Revolutionary Guards to be a terrorist organization. That this could lead to confrontation with Iran – possible strikes on Qods training facilities near the Iraqi border is probably the most likely scenario – seems to be a feature of this new declaration, not a bug. More importantly, as Michael Rubin points out, this declaration will make negotiating with Iran over anything in Iraq difficult, because Iran’s ambassador to Iraq is a Revolutionary Guardsmen.
